Edmundston (NB) - The « Congrès mondial acadien 2014 » (World Acadian Congress) will host “L’Acadie du Monde” (Acadia of the World) in partnership with TransCanada.  Today, Mr. Émilien Nadeau, President of the CMA 2014, and Mr. Philippe Cannon, TransCanada’s spokesperson, have officially announced their partnership, which will most likely be the last significant contribution from the private sector for this grand gathering of August 2014.

With its $50,000 contribution, TransCanada will support ExpoMONDE, a true international showcase of the CMA 2014, which will be held from August 14 to the 23rd. Through this contribution, the company becomes a Bronze partner and joins more than fifty other private partners who have contributed more than four million dollars in cash and services within the private spartnerships component of the Congress. it should be noted that the CMA also benefits from financial contributions from the Government of Canada, the Governments of New Brunswick and Québec and from the State of Maine, as well as contributions from some 50 municipalities on the territory of Acadia of the Lands and Forests.

In order to express his thanks to the private sector for this outstanding commitment, the President of the CMA 2014 stated that:  ‘Forming partnerships with the private sector is essential in order to achieve such an event as ours.  The partnership with TransCanada will definitely contribute to the success of the CMA 2014, and will also contribute toward mechanisms we wish to introduce through our economic component to ensure the sustainability of Acadia of the Lands and Forests.’

TransCanada’s official representative, Mr. Philippe Cannon, was very pleased to be associated with the CMA.  ‘The CMA 2014 will generate numerous positive spin-offs for New Brunswick and Québec and from the State of Maine and it was important for us to be part of this great adventure, as we are committed to the sustainable economic development of communities’, stated Mr. Cannon.

On the eve of these celebrations, the organizers of the CMA 2014 took advantage of this news item to offer a progress report regarding the partnership program of the Congress.

We are pleased to have among our ranks numerous esteemed partners who continuously support us to ensure the smooth running of these celebrations in August this year.  We extend our most sincere thanks to these partners who dream with us, but moreover, we thank them for helping us make these dreams a reality!’ commented Mr. Léo-Paul Charest, Executive Director of the CMA 2014.

Our continued success in searching for private partners on the territory and elsewhere and the positive response that the CMA 2014 received throughout the preparatory period are a testament to these entrepreneurs’ commitment towards the development of our communities.  That is why the organizing committee of the CMA 2014 would like to say a heartfelt thank you to its partners!!!
