The Congrès mondial acadien 2014 public consultations

Edmundston (N.B.) — For several months now, the Congrès mondial acadien 2014 has been working closely with the various health and safety services and municipalities to ensure a harmonious and safe environment during the many activities that will take place in Acadia of the Lands and Forests next August 8 to 24.

In this spirit of collaboration and to continue preparations for this summer's festivities, the CMA 2014 will consult, in the coming months, with the residents and business people of the host municipalities where the three pillar days will be held, the towns of Edmundston (NB), Madawaska (ME) and Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac (QC) respectively for the opening ceremonies on August 8, the Fête nationale de l'Acadie on August 15 and the closing ceremonies on August 24.

Several topics will be discussed at these public meetings. Among others, we will talk about street closures and shuttle service for certain events as well as parking at designated areas on the days of large scale concerts. Furthermore, various stakeholders at all levels will be present to answer the population's questions.

« It is of the utmost importance for us to establish a cohesive plan for the activities of the pillar days with the various stakeholders. The Congrès mondial acadien 2014 will be a resounding success due to the commitment of communities in Acadia of the Lands and Forests towards this collective project. » said Léo-Paul Charest, Executive Director of the CMA 2014.

Starting in June, an awareness campaign will be implemented to inform the population of the host territory, as well as the thousands of visitors at large, of the various logistical details surrounding the large-scale events of the Congrès mondial acadien 2014.

« The presence of different authorities at the consultation meeting is an asset that largely contributes towards structuring our operational plan for the major events of the CMA 2014. It is through this collaboration that the local population and the numerous visitors can fully enjoy the proposed activities of the CMA. » mentioned Eric Haché, Director of Logistics at the Congrès mondial acadien 2014.
