Unveiling of the CMA 2014’s Program Schedule for the Seminar on Agriculture and the Agri-Food Sector

This two-day seminar will deal with new research and technology in agriculture and the agri-food industry in Acadia, sustainable agriculture and agri-food, and the increased value of agricultural products and by-products.  These themes will be dealt with during formal presentations, panel and forum discussions led by experts in the field, such as Ghislain Pelletier (McCain International), Thomas Souci (Groupe Westco), Odette Ménard and many more.

Given that many models of sustainable agriculture and development of agricultural products and by-products exist on the territory of Acadia of the Lands and Forests, participants will have an opportunity to visit sites on the entire territory.  It will be a chance of a lifetime to learn more about the operations and logistics behind these infrastructures while making a direct connection with themes covered during the seminar.  Participants will be accompanied on site by experts and researchers who will share their knowledge on technological innovations in the field of agriculture and agri-food.

The general public will also have an opportunity to partake in this seminar during the open door event on August 17th at ExpoMONDE, the CMA 2014’s international showcase.  The local population and visitors will have a chance to discover various products developed by businesses producing agri-food products in Acadia of the Lands and Forests.

Agriculture and the agri-food industry are among the economic pillars that characterize the three regions of Acadia of the Lands and Forests. Moreover, we are pleased to have had the highly-valued collaboration of the New Brunswick Community College to spearhead this seminar so that this business sector will have the recognition it deserves within the seminar and conference component”, stated the President of the CMA 2014, Mr. Émilien Nadeau.
