The Scouts and Guides will be at the CMA 2014!

The Mont Farlagne ski center in Edmundston will find a new vocation during this 5th Congrès mondial acadien, with many campsites installed at its periphery for the participants, and also with tents housing activities to entertain young and elders alike.

“The Scouts and Guides Day falls within the theme days presented in the program of festivities to celebrate the creativity, ingenuity, diversity and cultural specificity of the regions and interest groups partners of the Congrès mondial acadien 2014. Congratulations to l’Amical Scouts et Guides, Edmundston department, who have successfully organized this initiative which will surely be a great success!”, said Mr. Émilien Nadeau, President of the CMA 2014.

Several activities are on the agenda, such as outdoor games, hiking, mountain excursions, bonfires, music, singing, parades, trading badges, night-time camping, and exhibitions. To celebrate Kids’ Day, some scouting and guiding activities such as fishing competitions at both lakes in the Village of Kedgwick, or an evening of scouts’ stories around a campfire complete with songwriter and snacks in Saint-François-de-Madawaska.

“We have been working together for several years towards the organization of this great international scouts and guides gathering and we are proud to offer a program of activities that will appeal to all! One of the highlights of this reunion will certainly be the musical show offered by the Bossé family”, indicated Mr. John Porter, member of the organizing committee of the Scouts and Guides Day. /p>

About the CMA...

Le Congrès mondial acadien is a grand reunion that happens every five years that calls for the Acadian diaspora around the world. Several activities will be offered for more than two weeks, from August 8 to 24, 2014 The event is based on community involvement and allows to assert its culture, heritage and attractions .
