Saint-Quentin Hosts The Grand Show of August 15th, 2013

The four organizations are thrilled to be combining their efforts to offer this highly colourful show.  Amongst the invited artists, Roch Voisine, Zachary Richard and Lisa LeBlanc have already confirmed their presence. Jac Gautreau will assume the artistic direction while Paul Butler will be in charge of the televisual production.

For Rodrigue Lévesque, Mayor of Saint-Quentin, “This is a major cultural event for the community of Saint-Quentin and the surrounding areas. The City Council is proud to associate with the CMA 2014, Radio-Canada Acadie and the Festival Western de Saint-Quentin in presenting this grand show on August 15, 2013 to celebrate the francophonie in the heart of Acadia of the Lands and Forests. I am positive that the dynamic team of the Festival Western de Saint-Quentin will brilliantly and masterfully orchestrate this anxiously awaited activity and will offer, at the same time, a preview of the festivities of the Congrès mondial acadien 2014.”

This year’s show will be held within the infrastructures of the Festival Western de Saint-Quentin. For their president, Mr. Rino Perron, “This is an event which will bring to the region a second period of festivities the likes of which it is not expecting. We are proud to contribute to this newest project and we are convinced that it will be a great success.”

The president of the Congrès mondial acadien 2014, Émilien Nadeau, declared: “On August 15, 2013, all eyes will be on Acadia of the Lands and Forests with the broadcasting of the grand show for Acadia National Day in Saint-Quentin. This show will give spectators a foretaste of the 2014 festivities as we welcome Acadians of the world to 17 days of celebration.” This activity is part of Acadian National Day celebrations which will be held in 2013 on the territory of Acadia of the Lands and Forests. We remind you that, to reflect the reality and implication of the three regions, celebrations will also be held, for Acadian National Day, in Madawaska, Maine, on August 9 and in Dégelis, Québec, on August 16, 2013. For Mr. Richard Simoens of Radio-Canada Acadie: “This year’s show, on August 15, is of particular importance as it is the first time this show is presented in Northwestern New Brunswick. It is also a prelude to the celebrations which will reunite the Acadians, next year, during the Congrès mondial acadien 2014.”
