Less than 100 days to the kick-off of the Congrès mondial acadien 2014!

Émilien Nadeau, président du Congrès mondial acadien 2014Edmundston (N.B.)- April 30thThe countdown leading to the next Congrès mondial acadien has reached a new milestone, as there are fewer than 100 days before the start of the festivities in Acadia of the Lands and Forests. A sense of excitement and trepidation is in the air as the local population and team of the CMA 2014 are focusing on the final preparations to welcome the Acadie of the world from August 8th to 24th, 2014.

The organizers of the Congrès mondial acadien 2014 have taken advantage of this pivotal moment to celebrate, with the local communities, the work accomplished to date. They have brought special emphasis on the accomplishments of the community programming, which includes no less than 125 registered family reunions, the planning of over 200 activities in the communities, and work on more than 50 heritage and outdoor projects. By themselves, those activities have generated a return of more than 3 million dollars directly into the communities in direct support to the organizers' work.

They have also mentioned the participation of more than 800 artists to the various performances during the festivities. Those artists are representative of Acadie of the world, and also include a great number of local artists. Regarding the seminars, conferences and Grand Gatherings, we must mention that more than 200 experts are already involved in the reflections. In that area also, those experts are among the great names of Acadie, worldwide experts.

Lastly, the CMA 2014 also added three novelties to its program: a Sports component, a Seniors Summit, and an important Economic component with the purpose of ensuring a sustainable economic heritage for Acadia of the Lands and Forests. The complete official programming, including all activities, will be published and available in June. In the meantime, the population is invited to follow us on our web site at www.cma2014.com or on the social networks.

"Thanks to the dynamic and highly colorful program developed by the 50 communities of Acadia of the Lands and Forests and by our organization, we can affirm, loud and clear, that we have delivered on our commitment of creating a Congrès mondial acadien that is inclusive, community-based, connected and international!", said Mr. Émilien Nadeau, President of the CMA 2014.

We remind you that the CMA 2014 has recently launched the sale of its official bracelet which will allow holders of said bracelets to participate in the ceremonies and concert on August 8th, in the activities of the Fête nationale de l'Acadie, on August 15th and in the activities on August 24th. The bracelet also gives unlimited access to the MultiMEDIA Pavilion in Edmundston and to ExpoMONDE in Grand Falls. The CMA is taking this opportunity, 100 days to the kick-off, to launch a contest. Everyone that buys a bracelet before July 15th will automatically be registered to win one prize from each region. For further details regarding this contest, visit our web site.

"Through this contest, we want to encourage the local population, and visitors alike , to purchase their bracelet right now which will greatly contribute to the growing enthusiasm in our communities towards the approaching celebrations!", declared Mr. Léo Paul Charest, Executive Director of the CMA 2014.
