Coordination Assistant - Women's Summit

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Women's Summit, the Coordination Assistant will be responsible to assist in the tasks of the Coordinator of the Women's Summit of the World Acadian Congress 2014.

Coordination Assistant - Women's Summit

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Women's Summit, the Coordination Assistant will be responsible to assist in the tasks of the Coordinator of the Women's Summit of the World Acadian Congress 2014.

Profile:

Postsecondary education in administration / management, social sciences, information and communication, administration, women's studies, social work or other related field.

  • Knowledge about issues affecting women and / or women's rights.
  • Work experience or volunteering on issues affecting women an advantage.
  • Work experience in the community field an asset.
  • Work experience in coordinating event an asset.
  • Very good communication skills in French oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team, initiative, good interpersonal relations.
  • wledge of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to search on the internet.

Remuneration and conditions:

  • The contract will be for a period of eight (8) weeks to 35 hours / week from early June 2014.
  • Compensation is $ 10 / hour.
  • The workplace is 165 Boulevard Hebert, Edmundston, New Brunswick.

The position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program.

To be eligible to participate in the CSJ initiative, individuals must:

  • be aged 15-30 years at the beginning of employment
  • be registered as full-time students during the previous academic year and intend to return to school full-time during the next school year;
  • be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons as refugees under the Immigration Act and the protection of réfugiés3 ; and
  • be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with the regulatory provisions in force in the province or territory.
