The CMA 2014 Is on the Road!

Martin Arseneau (CMA2014), Myriam Cyr, Jeremy Ouellette, Sebatien Bérubé, Camille Pilon, Joanne Bérubé-Gagné (OTEM) et Lise Couturier (OTEM)Edmundston (NB) – This July, the Congrès mondial acadien 2014, in collaboration with the Office du tourisme Edmundston Madawaska (OTEM), will tour New Brunswick in order to promote the Congrès mondial acadien 2014, which will be held in Acadia of the Lands and Forests from August 8th to 24th, 2014.

The “Les Bagosseux” music group, with Jeremy Ouellette, Sébastien Bérubé, Myriam Cyr, and Camille Pilon, will give shows in 9 New Brunswick towns from July 10th to 21st, 2013. The OTEM will take advantage of this tour to promote Acadia of the Lands and Forests, host region for the upcoming Congrès mondial acadien, and to hand out “ployes”, to encourage New Brunswick residents to assist in the 2014 festivities.

“Such a tour in New Brunswick will not only allow us to bring attention on the Congrès mondial acadien 2014, but also to the entire region to the New Brunswick population. We will also be able to join and invite the tourists, who will be visiting these New Brunswick Acadian regions at the same time, to the upcoming Congrès mondial acadien”, indicates Emilien Nadeau, CMA 2014 president.

Here are the towns visited during the tour:

July 10th: Moncton City Hall, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

July 11th: Shediac Lobster Festival, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

July 12th: Complexe les deux rivières in Tracadie-Sheila, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

July 13th: Pays de la Sagouine in Bouctouche, 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

July 14th: Dory-Boat Festival in Petit-Rocher, 1:30 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.

July 18th: Campbellton Waterfront, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

July 19th: Pêche et aquaculture Day in Shippagan, 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

July 19th: Promenade Waterfront in Bathurst, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

July 21st: Village historique Acadien, 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Congrès mondial acadien is a gathering held every five years uniting the Acadian diaspora from all over the world. Many activities are planned over a two week period, i.e. from August 8th to the 24th, 2014.  The event draws on the community’s commitment and promotes the Acadian culture, heritage and amenities.
