I've visited the coastal villages of Nova Scotia, met my cajun cousins during a Fais Do Do and explored the Acadian Peninsula to the sound of the local radio stations. Theme Song: the CMA 2014 solicits the help of the public for its video clip

Maine's August 15, show moves to the Multi-Purpose Bulding Grounds

At the last meeting of the Executive Committee of the Congrès mondial acadien 2014 (CMA 2014), it was decided to relocate the show of August 15, 2014, which was to be presented on a site in the St. David sector, on the grounds adjacent to the Multi-Purpose Building on 7th Avenue in Madawaska. Read more...

 

The CMA 2014, on the road with the tour "3 artists, 3 territoires"

Pascal Lejeune, Patrice Michaud and Denny Breau are taking to the road this summer for the tour "3 artists, 3 territories", from July 4 to July 19, 2013. Sponsored by the Heritage and Outdoor projects of the Congrès mondial acadien (CMA) 2014, this unifying initiative will allow the three artists to perform on 12 stages in Acadia of the Atlantic, in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region in Québec and in the state of Maine in the United States. Read more...

 

Festival acadien de la Nouvelle-Acadie

Some of the Congrès mondial acadien 2014's team members were present at the fundraising dinner for the Festival acadien de la Nouvelle-Acadie of Lanaudière that was held at the Montcalm Golf Club in Saint-Liguori, QC on May 24. An invitation has been extended to the 200 participants to come and celebrate in Acadia of the Lands and Forests at the upcoming Congrès mondial acadien 2014. We thank the President of the Festival Mrs. Évangéline Richard and the Honorary Chairman, Mr. Serge Brière for their warm welcome. The Congrès mondial acadien 2014 will be at the 13th edition of the Festival acadien de la Nouvelle Acadie next August 4 to 11 in the area of Saint-Jacques, Sainte-Marie-Salomé, Saint-Alexis and Saint-Ligouri which form together the region of the Nouvelle-Acadie (www.nouvelle-acadie.com).

 

Franco-American Day

A group of celebrants from the St. John Valley travelled to Augusta on Wednesday, May 14, to participate in Franco-American Day. They were there to celebrate the induction into the Franco-American Hall of Fame of Rev. Jacques LaPointe from Madawaska and of the late Leon Guimond from Frenchville.
